The Morris Residence
A contemporary sunroom and media room shaped through immersive color, layered texture, sculptural furnishings, and spaces designed for both everyday living and memorable moments.
Two Rooms, Two Distinct Moods
Color-Drenched Spaces Designed Around Real Life
The Morris residence presented an opportunity to transform two existing rooms without structural construction. Instead, the design relied on furnishings, lighting, finishes, custom details, and a confident use of color to give each space an entirely new identity.
The sunroom became a serene destination for lounging and gathering, while the media room was designed as an immersive retreat for movies, entertaining, and overnight guests.

The Sunroom
A Softer Expression of Color
Once used for working from home and exercising, the sunroom was reimagined as a place for slowing down, lounging, and enjoying the light. Benjamin Moore Beach Glass creates a quiet, enveloping backdrop across the walls, ceiling, doors, and trim.
Varied seating silhouettes encourage conversation and intimate gatherings, while custom drapery, tactile surfaces, sculptural forms, and layered lighting give the room a polished but comfortable character.
The result is serene without feeling restrained and sophisticated without losing its sense of ease.
From Serene to Cinematic
The same home shifts into an entirely different mood through one confident change in color.
The Media Room
Deep Color, Layered Comfort
Designed with the family’s high school and college-aged daughters in mind, the media room needed to function as a comfortable hangout, movie room, and guest bedroom without sacrificing sophistication.
Benjamin Moore Old Navy carries across the walls, ceiling, doors, trim, architectural details, and even electrical elements. Custom drapery, a custom area rug, layered blue textiles, sculptural lighting, and a tailored sleeper sofa complete the immersive effect.
Designed Beyond a Single Purpose
Function Hidden Within the Details
Every layer helps these rooms support daily life while maintaining the visual impact of a fully considered interior.
More Than Painted Walls
Color extends across ceilings, trim, doors, architectural details, furnishings, textiles, and electrical elements to create a complete, uninterrupted atmosphere.
A Guest Room in Disguise
The media room’s tailored sofa conceals a pullout sleeper with a comfortable inflatable mattress, allowing the room to transition from entertaining space to guest accommodation.
Designed to Set the Mood
Statement chandeliers establish each room’s character, while dimmable, movie-theater-inspired lighting gives the media room the flexibility to shift from gathering to viewing.
