I look at the home or a commercial space as a complete experience. A new construction presents the opportunity to decide everything from the flow of the full space, how the people will use it, where to create architectural moments, where the natural light will come from, what special requirements are needed, and more.

These decisions are interconnected. A flooring selection affects the furniture. Cabinetry affects lighting. Architectural details influence furnishings. Window placement affects everything from space planning to textiles and artwork.

The earlier we can have those conversations, the more cohesive the final result can be.

Interior Design for Home Renovations

Renovating an existing space presents a different set of opportunities.

We're working with what is already there, but that doesn't mean we're limited by it.

A renovation can completely change how a home functions and feels. It might involve reworking the layout, improving circulation, updating architectural details, introducing better lighting, or creating a more cohesive relationship between rooms.

A key first step is to understand what the space needs to do for the people living in it. What isn’t working? What is loved about the space? What’s missing? What functionality is crucial?

Those answers inform the design.

From there, I work with the appropriate professionals to develop the selections and details; from flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, and lighting to paint, wall treatments, hardware, and architectural elements.

The goal isn't simply to make an old space look new. It's to make the home work better while giving it a design identity that feels intentional and distinctly yours.

Kitchens and bathrooms are often some of the most detail-intensive rooms in a home.

They're also spaces where function and aesthetics have to work particularly hard together.

In a kitchen remodel, for example, beautiful cabinetry doesn't matter much if the layout doesn't support the way you cook, entertain, and live. A beautiful bathroom still needs to function effortlessly every morning.

I approach these spaces from both perspectives.

We consider layout, storage, lighting, materials, fixtures, durability, and functionality while also developing a visual direction that feels connected to the rest of the home.

The result should be sophisticated, but it should also make sense.

Working With Your Architect, Builder, Contractor, and Trades

A successful renovation or new construction project is never the work of one person.

There are architects, builders, general contractors, cabinetmakers, electricians, plumbers, tile installers, fabricators, painters, and many other skilled trades involved in bringing a home together.

I see collaboration as an essential part of my role.

I'm there to communicate the design intent, make informed selections, coordinate details, ensure proper execution, answer questions, and help resolve issues as they arise.

That collaboration matters because the details don't exist in isolation.

A tile selection affects a plumbing fixture. A countertop affects cabinetry. Cabinetry affects lighting. Lighting affects how the finishes look. And all of those decisions eventually have to work with the furniture and décor.

Having an interior designer involved throughout the process creates another layer of oversight and ensures the finished home reflects the vision we established together.

This is where my full-service furnishing and styling work comes in.

For clients who don't want to spend months sourcing furniture, comparing fabrics, tracking orders, coordinating deliveries, and trying to figure out how everything fits together, I manage that process for them.

We begin by understanding how you live, what you need from each space, your aesthetic preferences, and the level of investment you're comfortable making.

Then I curate the furnishings and finishes that bring the rooms together.
